It’s no secret that I am a plus sized curvy girl who likes to cook and eat. So it will come as no surprise that I absolutely love Danimezza. Even if you don’t consider yourself curvy you should check out her amazing blog. She’s really honest and inspiring. She’s definitely opened up a whole new world of confidence for me.
Dani hosts a weekly blog-hop and I thought I’d get on board this week (popping the cherry so to speak). I’m not much of a fashionista if I’m honest, but I’m giving it a go nonetheless.
This week’s theme is texture. I knew exactly what I wanted to wear.
I have this skirt that I bought from Metalicus last year that I don’t actually wear that often because it’s a bit clingy and it’s a mustard yellow which is a bit hard to match with other colours. I have a bit of a love hate relationship with the Metalicus brand. It’s supposed to be ‘one size fits all’. It is stretchy, I’ll give them that, but I can’t help but think that a lot of their stuff would fit me better if I dropped a few kay-gees.

THE DETAILS
Top: Target
Sunglasses: Dior
Belt: Fossil
Skirt: Metallicus
Shoes: Sambag
I thought I’d keep with the texture theme and kept my hair beachy and wavy. I just love my sunglasses so I popped those on too. It’s funny, I’ve never been into sunnies, but when I bought this pair I was converted. They’re so comfortable and I think they add style to any outfit.
I kept the accessories to a minimum because I thought the ruffle neck was just enough detail around the neckline.
So how do you think I went for my first go? Is it a pass?

You look great!
Thanks!
Oooo, great outfit! Yeah, total pass in my books. Loving the white top with the mustard maxi and the shoes. And sunnies are THE BEST when you find good ones, otherwise they are an absolute fail for me too.
Yeah, sunnies just look weird on my face, but not these! Thanks Suger!
You look fantastic, and you really do not need to drop any weight to rock this skirt you look amazing in it already! I love it with the belt and top, it is making me rethink the colour mustard is actually pretty cool!
Aww thanks! I loved the colour when I bought it, it’s what drew me to it. I just didn’t realise how tricky it was to match it with other things. So I played it safe with white!
If you’ve got it flaunt it…….. It is so hard no matter what size or shape we are to feel confident in clothing….. You look confident in this outfit so it’s a winner…. I read that everything in our wardrobe should make us feel like a 9 or 10. If not then you shouldn’t wear it but at the risk of chucking out half my wardrobe I’m just trying to make it work……
Yes confidence is a girl’s best accessory. The older I get the less I care what other people think. I wear what makes me feel good.
You look fantastic! That colour really suits you too!
Thanks Lorraine!
I think you look hot! You look really cool, love the top, sunnies and skirt- I didn’t realise Metallicus was OSFA, I thought it was more for smaller girls, so I’ll have to have a look at their stuff.
I think it depends on the piece, but a lot of them are made out of very stretchy material. So it might fit differently on different sized women, but if it suits you, you can make it work.
Welcome and thank you so much for the sweet words, you look great!
Thanks – I only speak the truth!
I agree that mustard yellow is hard to match with but I think you’ve done a great job here. welcome to the gang xx
Thank you for your kind words and welcome. What a great community this is!
Hotness!! and welcome aboard, i’ve not long started too, and it’d great fun
Thanks Katie – I’ll take hotness!!!
Totally feeling this outfit on you Kristy and your natural wavy locks are perfect for this ensemble! BTW, you look more like an “in-between” to me
Christine, I checked out your label a while ago (through Danimezza’s blog) and it’s definitely my cup of tea as you’re right, I’m in that inbetween sizing where I straddle the upper “normal” sizes and the lower “plus” sizes. It’s a bit of a tricky place to be sizing wise!
You look great! x
Thank you Lucy!
Welcome. I think you look AMAZING! I just started posting to Aussie Curves last week myself
Am loving it and it’s really making me think about clothes and my style accordingly. I’m sure you’ll love it and will participate each week too.
Thanks JoJo. I’ve really enjoyed checking out everyone’s interpretation of the theme. It is so much fun, my mind has already started ticking over for next week’s theme.
Your outfit looks amazing. Totally winning for a first post.
THank you Kylee! You’re so kind!
Rowr! Love this! I’m having so much fun with the challenges (this is only my 4th week), so I’m sure you’ll love it. Yay to Danimezza for organising it!
Yeah I’m having fun so far. Hooray for Danimezza!
There is not one thing I don’t love about this outfit! You look amazing. My new obsession is maxi skirts, finally overtaking maxi dresses! xx
I love everything maxi. I think they look elegant and they suit me because I’m rather tall. Thanks for the comment!
Love the look. Now you just need a fancy cocktail in one hand. A pool in the background. And you look is complete LOL.
I’ll take that Jeanie! Who’s making the cocktails?
Love the skirt… one of my favourite colours. Cute shoes. You look great!
Love this combination, you look summery and chic
I didn’t see yours that week. I have to say, I absolutely love it. I’d wear it in a heartbeat!
Oh gee thanks!
