I’m Kristy (how do you do?) I’ve always been passionate about cooking and eating. I’m a prolific cookbook reader and magazine collector. I love Lifestyle Food channel. It was only a matter of time before I carved out my own little nook in cyberspace and started writing about the things I cook.
To be truthful I’ve always wanted a food related career. I started out as an occupational therapist working with adults who had acute psychiatric episodes. This was a great job and I actually got to use my passion for cooking surprisingly often as I’d help people to gain some independence by learning to cook simple meals at home for themselves. This job saw me through two babies and two bouts of maternity leave, but after I had my third child, going back to work was proving a lot more complicated than before.
So I came to the conclusion that for now in my life I had to be at home with my children.
But as a person who has always been busy helping people, I knew that I had to do more. So the blog was born. It is such a fantastic creative outlet for me. For the first time in my life I feel as though I’m really doing what comes completely naturally to me.
You know that feeling when you get up in the morning and you have to go to work but you really wish you could chuck a sickie? I don’t get that feeling anymore. I love turning my mind to the next recipe, the next idea and I love interacting with all of my readers through facebook and comments.
The Life She Made is primarily about food – lots of recipes and chatter about foodie things, interspersed with tidbits from my life. If you like incredibly delicious food for your family that is not too fussy to make, this is the right place for you.
